1. Pair-level presentation
Define polybag or shoe box, tissue or inserts, hang tags, spare parts, care instructions, closure method and the position in which each pair is presented.

Export preparation guide
Short answer
For a B2B safety footwear order, approve the complete packaging specification before mass packing: pair-level presentation, size assortment, labels and barcodes, export-carton construction, carton marks, packed dimensions, net weight and gross weight. The packing list and physical cartons should use the same model, size, color and purchase-order references.
Do not estimate container quantity from footwear pair count or a generic carton standard alone. Calculate it from the measured packed-carton dimensions, total gross weight, pallet or floor-loading method, container limits and the loading pattern confirmed with the forwarder. Release shipment only after carton count, container condition, loading photographs and seal number are recorded.
Reliable Safety Products, operated by Ruilabo, coordinates packaging confirmation, factory follow-up and pre-shipment evidence for overseas PPE buyers; the buyer's forwarder remains responsible for confirming equipment, route and carrier limits.
Decision framework
| Control point | Confirm before production | Evidence before shipment |
|---|---|---|
| Pair pack | Polybag or shoe box, inserts, presentation and closure | Approved packed pair and artwork revision |
| Size assortment | One size or mixed sizes, pairs per carton and ratio | Carton labels matched to the packing list |
| Export carton | Internal layout, board strength, dimensions, net and gross weight | Measured sealed carton and weight records |
| Labels and marks | Barcode data, model, color, size, PO and destination marks | Readable label and carton-mark photographs |
| Moisture control | Dry product, packaging material and agreed desiccant method | Container condition and loading-day records |
| Container plan | Carton count, cubic volume, weight, pallet or floor loading | Loaded count, placement photos and seal number |
Buyer checklist
Define polybag or shoe box, tissue or inserts, hang tags, spare parts, care instructions, closure method and the position in which each pair is presented.
State whether each carton contains one size or a mixed ratio. List model, color, size run, pairs per carton and any carton sequence required by the buyer's warehouse.
Control the data, barcode type, print size, placement and readability for product, pair pack, inner pack and export carton. Test scans from production printouts.
Approve main and side marks with consignee, PO, model, color, size or ratio, carton number, country-of-origin wording and handling marks required by the shipment.
Specify board construction, dimensions, closure, reinforcement and acceptable packed weight. Validate the carton with the actual footwear and pair packaging, not an empty sample.
Give every artwork and packing instruction a version and approval date. Withdraw obsolete files so a last-minute label change does not create mixed cartons.
Buyer checklist
Measure multiple sealed cartons after packing and record length, width, height, net weight and gross weight. Bulging or compression can make artwork dimensions inaccurate.
Carton CBM equals length x width x height when all dimensions use metres. Multiply by carton count, then allow for loading gaps, container shape and any pallets or protection material.
Compare total cargo gross weight with container payload, road limits and carrier requirements. A dense safety-shoe order can reach a weight limit before filling the nominal volume.
Record pallet footprint, height and overhang when palletized. For floor loading, define carton orientation, stacking pattern and maximum stack condition.
Use a layout or trial load for new cartons, mixed models or tight utilization targets. Ask the forwarder to confirm equipment and route constraints before promising a final pair count.
Inspect the empty container for cleanliness, dryness, odor, holes, sharp projections and door condition. Use only an agreed moisture-control method suited to the route and packaging.
Buyer checklist
Reconcile ordered, produced, packed and loaded quantities by model, color and size. Investigate every overage, shortage or replacement before release.
Open sampled cartons across the lot and compare pair count, size ratio, labels, inserts and presentation with the approved packing instruction.
Photograph representative sealed cartons, all mark panels and any pallet labels. Record actual dimensions and weights used for shipment planning.
Record container number and internal condition before loading. Show floor, walls, roof, doors and any moisture-control material before cartons cover the surfaces.
Record start, progress and completed-load photographs, carton or pallet count and any mixed-model placement needed for destination unloading.
Photograph the closed doors and seal number, then match them to the packing list, shipping instruction and inspection-release record.
Reliable Safety Products
Connect the packaging brief to product customization, supplier verification and final inspection. Product construction and pair packaging should be approved before the shipping quantity is treated as final.
FAQ
Ten pairs per carton is a common starting format for several boot and safety-shoe programs, but it is not a universal rule. Confirm the model, size mix, pair packaging, carton dimensions, board strength, handling weight and destination requirements before approval.
Use the measured length, width and height of a sealed production carton to calculate carton cubic volume, then test a loading pattern against container internal dimensions, door opening, payload and route restrictions. Gross weight or unusable space can become the limiting factor before nominal volume.
Either can work. One-size cartons simplify warehouse counting and replenishment, while mixed-size cartons can support store or project assortments. The purchase order, carton label and packing list must use the same agreed ratio.
Pallets can improve handling and separation from the container floor, but they consume volume and add weight. Floor loading usually improves space use but requires a clear loading pattern and careful carton handling. Decide with the buyer and forwarder before final quantity confirmation.
Request approved packaging files, packed-carton measurements, net and gross weights, carton-mark photos, sampled assortment records, final packing list, container-condition photos, loading count, loaded-container photos and the seal number.
Send the product list, size breakdown, packaging artwork, order quantity, destination and shipping method. Reliable Safety Products can help turn them into a packaging specification and loading checklist before production.
